These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Maxium, a practice platform for NSW HSC Mathematics Advanced (the "Service"), operated by Alan Cherian (ABN 80 466 116 358), trading as Maxium ("Maxium", "we", "us", "our"), as a sole trader based in Australia. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent, guardian, or your school has consented to your use of the Service where required. Teacher and student accounts may be provisioned by a school or teacher on your behalf.
Maxium generates original practice questions, worked solutions, and marking feedback aligned to the NSW HSC Mathematics Advanced syllabus. Maxium is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with NESA (the NSW Education Standards Authority). Questions are original and are not reproductions of past HSC papers.
The Service is provided for study and practice purposes only. Generated questions, solutions, and marking feedback are produced with the assistance of automated and AI-based systems and may contain errors. Maxium is not a substitute for advice from a qualified teacher, and we do not guarantee that any question, answer, or mark reflects what would appear in, or be awarded in, an actual HSC examination.
You need an account to use most of the Service. You agree to:
Accounts may be created directly, via Google sign-in, or provisioned by a school or teacher for student use. Where a teacher or school administers your account, they may have visibility into your activity and progress within their class or group.
You agree not to:
The Service is currently free to use. Our pricing page shows our intended pricing for paid plans, but paid subscriptions are not yet available — no payment is collected or processed today. Once paid plans launch, they will be billed in advance on a recurring basis until cancelled, cancellable at any time from your account settings (taking effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise), and, except as required by law or as we expressly state at the time of purchase, non-refundable. We will update these Terms before paid plans go live.
We may change our prices from time to time. We will give you reasonable notice of any price change before it applies to your subscription.
The Service, including its software, design, question bank, solutions, and diagrams, is owned by Maxium or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your personal study purposes. All other rights are reserved.
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (for example, written or handwritten answers). By submitting content, you grant us a licence to use it to operate and improve the Service, including generating marking feedback and, in de-identified or aggregated form, improving our models and question quality.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate or free of mistakes. You are responsible for verifying your own understanding against your school's teaching and the official syllabus.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maxium is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, marks, or academic outcomes, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5–7) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. You and Maxium submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@maxium.app. See also our Privacy Policy.
